On Saturday, the spring equinox occurred when the sun passed over the equator and moved from the Southern Hemisphere to the Northern Hemisphere. The days are getting longer, the sun’s angle is higher in the sky each day, and the sun’s position in the sky moves south-to-north until the summer solstice June 20.
